Statement: Fox News used reason to decide not to extend Sarah Palin’s contract.
Elaboration: Palin was a political analyst with Fox, except when Palin chose to announce that she was not running for president in 2012 through a news source that was not Fox, Fox was able to reason that she was not worth the money as an employee. Fox reasoned that since she was not loyal to the company once, it was highly possible that she would not be loyal again. This helped them make their decision to not extend her contract.
Examples: Palin angered network president Roger Ailes when she announced through a different news outlet that she was not running for president. She was not exclusive to Fox television properties (her family was in the show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” and she was a guest host on NBC).
Illustration: This situation can be compared to a sports agent who tells the player that he will do his best to make him as much money as possible, as the player is his only client, but then turns out helping other players and forgetting about the original player. The player would likely reason that his best option would be to use a different agent.
